Hyperpop PS5 controller and console cover pre-orders are live and readily available

Howdy there, and welcome to this live coverage of the build-up toward the Hyperpop Collection pre-orders that are beginning tomorrow! I'm setting out my stall early, and putting my flag in the ground ahead of time to make sure you're covered in advance of stock dropping, and so we can cover all the key bits of information as to what's going to be on offer.

What *is* the Hyperpop Collection?

Unlike previous limit4ed edition DualSense release of recent times, the Hyperopo Collection is exactly that: a big ol' collection of multiple items.

In short, we've got three DualSense PS5 controllers launching tomorrow, as well as three PS5 Slim console cover sets.

They come in three very distinct and punchy colorways, too...

First, there's Techno Red

My personal favorite of the three is Techno Red. It's bright and bold, and a vivid shade of red covers over half of the DualSense and PS5 Slim console covers, gradually fading into black.

That gradient is something that all three colorways and designs have in common, and is pretty slick, I think. Certainly sets these apart from the solid color controllers too.

Then there's Remix Green

The same gradient applies with this incredibly bright green colorway. Not my favorite of the trio, honestly, but still very striking and sure to standout of any set up.

Lastly, there's Rhythm Blue

Rounding out the Hyperpop Collection is Rhythm Blue, a cool blue and black mix, and my second favorite of the three.

As you can see from those images, and just to reiterate - especially for collectors and those who like neat and tidy setups, it's a DualSense controller and PS5 Slim console cover set that are launching under each colorway - so that's six things in all.

Key details

So, let's get to some dates first, shall we.

Pre-order for the whole collection begin tomorrow, January 16, 2026, while the products actually launch and release on March 12, 2026. So there's a bit of time to wait between securing your order and it arriving.

How much?

Pricing details fall in line with expectations, really ,which is great.

The Hyperpop DualSense PS5 controllers will cost you $84.99 / £74.99 a piece, while the PS5 Slim console covers in any of the Hyperpop styles will come in at $74.99 / £64.99.

It's worth noting that Sony uses the phrase 'limited quantities' for the console covers specifically, but not the DualSenses - perhaps something to consider if you're after a new look for your console, rather than a new pad.

Time is key

By the way, it'll pay to be prepared tomorrow if you want to lock down your accessories, as pre-orders, once again, will start at 10am local time.

Where will you be able to pre-order?

We've got a bit of a split in terms of availability with the Hyperpop Collection - or exclusivity at least.

The DualSense should be available at PlayStation Direct as well as other go-to retailers like regular PS5 controllers - great!

The PS5 Slim console covers however, while not explicitly stated, will likely only be purchasable from Sony's own storefront - much like the rest of the official console covers.

I remember one recent PS Direct pre-order drop where I had much more luck on my phone locking in a unit then on Chrome on desktop... I've even had better luck on Firefox on desktop sometimes too, so it pays to have a back up option for that site if you can.

Weirdly, the US has pre-orders live on two of the controllers! My eagle-eyed colleague Rhys spotted this on social media, so there we have it, Hyperpop Collection pre-orders are officially live!

Several UK retailers have now gone live with their Hyperpop DualSense pre-orders. But we're still waiting on stock from a select few, including Currys and EE Store. We're not 100% these retailers will stock the limited-edition controllers, but we'll keep you updated if that changes.

Walmart is the only one missing from the US suite of retailers - which is a little surprising.

OK, so no Walmart still in the US but all the other big and go-to retailers have pre-order stock alive and kicking, so your options are great on that side of the Atlantic.

In the UK, there are some retailers 'missing' that I thought would join the party - Currys and EE, namely - PlayStation Direct, The Game Collection, Very, and ShopTo are providing plenty of Hyperpop opportunities so folks there are well covered.
