'The gaming laptop deal to end all gaming laptop deals' - get a Lenovo with an RTX 5070 and OLED display for $1,194

I think I may have just spotted the gaming laptop deal to end all gaming laptop deals this Presidents' Day. It's the Lenovo Legion 5i currently on sale as part of the official Lenovo Store's doorbuster event for $1,299 (was $2,034.99).

A gaming laptop with an RTX 5070 graphics card and Ryzen 7 chipset for $1,299, what's so good about that? Well, you can currently use the codes BUYMORELENOVO and EXTRAFIVE at checkout to further knock the price down to just $1,194.99.

That's close to the lowest price I've ever seen for an RTX 5070 gaming laptop, and this isn't come cheapo model that Lenovo has just upgraded with a mid-range GPU, either. The Legion 5i also features a 1600p OLED display with excellent image quality, which is one area where a lot of similar models fall short.

My only criticism of this particular deal is that the featured configuration only has 16GB of RAM. That's somewhat understandable with the insane level of price inflation surrounding RAM right now, but it's still a black spot on an otherwise flawless deal. On the plus side, this machine will support a RAM upgrade, so that is an option if RAM prices eventually settle in the not-too-distant future.

This particular deal is just one of many available today, but it's probably my favorite from the hundreds of listings that I've checked this past week or so. It's just hitting that sweet spot in terms of value - although, admittedly, it's not the cheapest machine on the market currently.
