We're nearing the end of Amazon Prime Day, and in these shopping events I know how easy it can be to get swept up in all the deals and end up buying something that's really out of your budget, even with that 'unmissable discount'. Especially with so many other brands launching their own rival sales events this year.

If you're in the market for a multi-styler, allow me to direct you to my favorite affordable option: the Shark FlexStyle. Right now, there are unmissable deals on both sides of the pond: in the US, the build-your-own-bundle FlexStyle is $209.99 (was $299.99) at Shark. In the UK, the best deal is at Amazon, where the FlexStyle is down to £184.99 (was £249.99).

Shark FlexStyle – build your own bundle: was $298.50 now $209.99 at SharkNinja

This 'build your bundle' edition of the FlexStyle has had a massive $90 lopped off in the SharkNinja rival Prime Day sale, taking it to under $210 – for that price, it's an absolutely no-brainer. You get the dryer part, then choose three attachments – options include a pair of auto-wrap curl barrels, various brushes, a concentrator nozzle, diffuser, wide-tooth comb, and flyaway smoother.

Shark FlexStyle: was £249.99 now £184.99 at Amazon

There's £70 off the FlexStyle in the Prime Day sale, matching the lowest price I have on record for this model. It includes the all-important auto-wrap curl barrels, two brush attachments, and a concentrator, plus the dryer part. It's a versatile multi-styler and a strong alternative to the far pricier Dyson Airwrap.

I've tested out a bunch of Dyson Airwrap alternatives, and the FlexStyle my favorite – head to the TechRadar Shark FlexStyle review to find out what to expect from this versatile styler.

There are some things it can't do, and which are only available if you stump up for an Airwrap. You'll have to swap over the barrel when you want to go from clockwise curls to anticlockwise, and there's no automated wrap-curl-cool shot sequence, either. So styling will take a little bit more effort than if you used an Airwrap. But otherwise, it's an extremely capable styling tool.
