Paul Thomas Anderson’s political satire, One Battle After Another, leads the field with nine nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value follows closely with eight nods, while Ryan Coogler’s Sinners has seven. On the television side, The White Lotus tops the list with six nominations, followed by Adolescence with five.

Returning as host is Nikki Glaser, who made history in 2025 as the first woman to host the Golden Globes. Interestingly, this year’s ceremony features a new category – Best Podcast – recognizing the podcast that made the biggest impact over the past year.

One Battle After Another and Sinners have already set the tone this awards season, picking up three and four wins respectively at the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards. If that momentum continues, both films could walk away with multiple trophies at the Golden Globes, and potentially the all-important Oscars as well.
