From discounted TV channel add-ons to faster broadband, there are some great upgrades for existing customers, too. Sky is also known to offer some extra savings if you're looking to get more value out of your overall account, especially if you negotiate a fairer deal with them.

Keep reading to find out my pick of the best Sky TV deals and packages for new customers, as well as Sky TV upgrades – including for extra TV channels and some of the best streaming services – for loyal customers that are looking to get more out of their subscriptions.

The most affordable way to get access to Sky is by purchasing one of its Sky TV deals, which all come with a Sky Stream device – unless you decide to stick with satellite by opting for Sky Q (scroll down to see the latest offer available for that).

I've included a selection of some of the best offers available below, but the cheapest is 'Essential TV', which is an entry-level package that offers access to one of the best Sky TV channels 'Sky Atlantic', Netflix and Discovery+ all in one neat account.

From there you can build it up by selecting any add-ons to your package, or simply enjoy the fantastic selection of content that comes with it, with over 90 included channels and a mix of highly-acclaimed featured TV shows.

If you're currently shopping around for one of the best TVs, then it's worth considering Sky Glass. The 4K smart TV combines Sky's streaming service and TV channels all in one place, which means you don't need a separate streaming device or satellite dish.

Sky Glass is the broadcasters very own OLED TV, well and truly assimilating Sky into your home. With the ability to voice active its AI, you can be taken straight to what you want to watch and enjoy great entertainment in all its full potential.

There are two main models to choose from: the flagship Sky Glass Gen 2, which comes equipped with all of its premium features such as Dolby Atmos and a QLED screen, and the more affordable Sky Glass Air. Discover the best Sky Glass deals and accessories below.

Sky TV Q deal

Sky Q

Although Sky Q requires a satellite dish, it's Sky TV's way of adapting to the way people now watch television, with less tuning in to live broadcasts, instead opting for video on-demand and streaming services.

Bringing you a modern interface where you can find all the content you want to watch in one place, including each individual service you subscribe to as well as Sky TV itself, Sky Q integrates both Netflix and Sky TV into one easy-to-use ecosystem.

Better still, Sky Q allows you to access content across devices, not simply your TV. Download the app and login on your smartphone or tablet, as well as being able to access on desktop, meaning you can watch just about anywhere, and can be combined with any new Sky TV packages purchased.

There's also various 'Sky Cinema' and 'Sky Sports' channels on top of 'Sky Kids' as well others.

While existing customers will need to log into their account to get the full breadth of Sky TV channel upgrades and existing customer deals, here's just a taster of what's on offer to those already with a Sky package in their household. These TV packs are also available to new customers looking to customise their Sky TV package.

What is Sky Q?

Sky Q is essentially a set-top box that uses a satellite dish. It allows you to access live TV channels, on-demand content and other services through a Sky subscription. While you can use an internet connection to access on-demand content and apps, Sky Q requires a satellite dish to connect to core television programming. Sky Q replaced the no longer available Sky+ service in 2016.

What are Sky TV packages?

When it comes to Sky TV, there are plenty of options and price points for you to choose from. A Sky package allows you to get more for your money with the option of both building your own bundle or choosing one of Sky's pre-curated TV deals. And that's not all. Sky packages aren't all about putting TV in the spotlight. Sky TV packages can also throw broadband into the mix, securing both for a great price and ensuring your Internet connection is just as fabulous as the series and films you get to watch.

What is Sky Live?

Just about got your head around Sky Glass? Well, now Sky Live is a thing. Essentially an addition to your Sky branded smart TV, Sky Live is the new piece of hardware from Sky – an interactive camera that works exclusively alongside Sky Glass. Allowing you to do video calls over Zoom with loved ones, play games, watch sports, TV, or movies alongside other households, or even workout, simply plug in and get even more from your Sky Glass TV.

Why should I become a Sky TV customer?

Offering front row seats to some of the most anticipated releases, Sky TV really does have it all when it comes to content across the board with amazing TV shows, movies, as well as coverage of some of the biggest sporting events every year. Of course, as well as Sky TV, you can also get superb, fast broadband deals under the same umbrella, as well as landline calls in one easy, succinct package. While this can prove pricey, Sky TV is forever offering new customers the best Sky TV deals with new bundles and offers every month to entice you into its ever expanding library.

Are Sky TV deals available to existing customers?

Looking for Sky TV deals for existing customers doesn't always feel like the most straight-forward thing to find. However, there is a page dedicated to Sky TV upgrade deals for those who are already subscribed to Sky. You may also find more tailored for you when logging into your account. What's more, if you're really not happy with the price you're paying, it's always worth giving their customer service line a call to see if they can match any of their current deals you've got your eye on. If all else fails, it has been known for Sky to budge if you threaten to leave.

What happened to Sky One?

As of September 2021, Sky One was pulled from Sky TV's scheduling and replaced by new flagship channel Sky Showcase. This replaces Sky One's linear TV offering as can be found on channel 106 on the Electronic Program Guide. The clue is in the name, Sky Showcase will bring together the best of Sky's roster of entertaining titles.

Sky Max was also launched at the same time, offering both a linear and on demand service, and will be home to Sky's blockbuster content, including Sky Originals like Brassic, Mr Bigstuff and Rob and Romesh Vs alongside TV shows like Never Mind the Buzzcocks and An Idiot Abroad.

Does Sky TV include Netflix?

Yes! There are various Sky TV packages that include a Netflix subscription at no extra cost. Sky TV's two biggest TV packages – 'Essential' and 'Ultimate' – both have Netflix but you can also add it to other Sky TV deals for Sky Glass, Sky Stream or Sky Q. A Netflix subscription is usually for the streaming service's 'Standard' with ads tier, but you can upgrade your account to 'Standard' without ads or 'Premium' for an extra cost.
