The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max made a splash in September 2025 with a brand new design (and a new orange colourway), proving to be a hit, with strong sales numbers so far.

After receiving a few modest discounts over Black Friday/Cyber Monday and Boxing Day 2025 – plus some promotions from the telcos themselves, some plans have seen a slight price drop from when they were launched late last year.

Vodafone in particular is offering AU$14 per month off their 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max plans, while Optus is offering $15 off per month for its plans, but only for the first 12 months. Be quick though, as Optus’ promotion ends on January 13, while Vodafone’s wraps up on January 22.

Likely the first change you'll notice – it's not an upgrade per se – is the new design of the Pro iPhones. Both models now have a large camera block running across their respective rear panels called the full-width camera plateau.

This is a significant departure from the square-shaped camera block in the top-left corner, which had been an expected feature on Pro models since the iPhone 11 Pro.
