I'm a loyal Apple Watch user, but this Garmin Vivoactive 6 Presidents' Day deal could lure me to the other side

I don't know about you, but I love to see the backend of winter, and now that the days are getting slightly longer it's only a matter of time before I get back into outdoor running — and this year's Presidents' Day sales are stacked with good Garmin deals.

Today's the last day when you can take advantage of the wave of deals on the best Garmin watches, but there's one model that's luring this loyal Apple Watch user over to the other side. Right now, Amazon's Presidents' Day sale is the best place to score the Garmin Vivoactive 6 fitness tracker, which is now matching last year's Black Friday offer at $249.99 (was $299.99).

Garmin models can be quite pricey, but the Vivoactive 6 is a solid budget option that packs a surprising punch - and it happens to be one of our favorite models. And yes, it's not the huge saving we'd like to see, but it's enough to match its Black Friday 2025 price, and we're certainly not complaining about that.

If you're new to smartwatches and the best fitness trackers but don't want to commit to the Apple ecosystem, the Garmin Vivoactive 6 is a great alternative to the Apple Watch SE 3. iPhone or Android, it's ideal if you're after above-average fitness features but want a model that's easy to navigate, all at a reasonable price.

Unlike the Apple Watch SE lineup, the Vivoactive 6's battery life is it's biggest selling point. With a battery life that lasts for over a week, it can go through thick and thin before it needs another round of juice which – if you like to wear your fitness tracker while you sleep – works out perfectly. Garmin has a stellar suite of recovery metrics unlocked when you wear your watch overnight, like its Body Battery and Morning Report features.

The Smart Wake alarm tool is another feature we particularly enjoyed. Using haptic vibrations, this advanced feature wakes you up at the lightest point in your sleep cycle resulting in a more relaxed way to get up in the morning – so you can become the morning person you've always wanted to be.
