Smart home gadgets can be intimidating and expensive, but IKEA has just done what it does best, and released a range of stylish and cheap options that take things back to basics. I had a sneak peek of its complete new sensor lineup at CES and have been able to test out my favorites from the range at home, and I'm impressed. Below, I've rounded up the new additions for you to browse.

All the new sensors and switches are Matter-compatible, so you don't need to worry about them not playing nicely with your existing smart home setup, if you have one.

One standout is the Timmerflotte temperature / humidity sensor, which the IKEA exec I chatted to flagged as his favorite. I also love the colorful Bilresa remote controls, which offer app-free control of any smart gadgets, either for visitors or just for times when you don't want to look at your phone. They're compatible with a range of IKEA smart bulbs, and also the wall light panel I've included in my roundup – it's dimmable and can also change color, and is great for setting the mood in your home. Finally, I've also included a Dirigera smart home hub, which opens up more functionality for your smart gadgets.
